Map of Leonida: All Regions Confirmed
7 min read
The 6 officially confirmed regions of GTA 6's Leonida map: Vice City, Leonida Keys, Grassrivers, Port Gellhorn, Ambrosia, and Mount Kalaga National Park.

The fictional state of Leonida, inspired by the real Florida, is the full setting of GTA 6. Rockstar has officially confirmed 6 distinct regions, all navigable with no loading screens between them — each with its own visual identity and mechanics. This guide breaks down what's known about each.
Vice City
Rockstar's modern reimagining of Miami, described by the studio itself as the most detailed city the studio has ever built. It's the game's urban center — nightlife, beaches, skyscrapers, and the density that has defined the franchise's identity since the 2000s (GTA Vice City, Vice City Stories).
Leonida Keys
A tropical island archipelago stretching along the south of the map. It's where Jason and Lucia's starting apartment is located at the beginning of the campaign — a detail confirmed by Rockstar itself in promotional material, not just speculation.
Grassrivers
A swampland region in the southwest of Leonida, clearly inspired by the real Florida Everglades. Rockstar confirmed this region introduces airboats (flat-bottomed boats powered by an air propeller) as a new vehicle class, designed specifically to navigate shallow swamp waters — an open-world mechanic that didn't exist in GTA V.
Port Gellhorn
Described by Rockstar as "Leonida's forgotten coast" — a decaying industrial port area full of abandoned motels and empty malls around a port that's still in operation. A direct contrast to Vice City's glamour.
Ambrosia
A region on the shores of Lake Leonida, with the fictional Allied Crystal sugar refinery dominating the local skyline — a reference to the real sugar industry that has historically shaped South Florida.
Mount Kalaga National Park
Occupies Leonida's northern border and is, according to Rockstar itself, the closest thing to Red Dead Redemption 2's terrain found in GTA 6: dense forests, canyons, rivers and trails completely replace the coastline in this region.
What's still an estimate (not a fact)
The total map size in km² hasn't been officially released by Rockstar. Community estimates vary widely — from around 83 km² (measurements based on leaked material) to 150–200 km² (projections based on analyzing trailer coordinates) — a gap wide enough to make clear that none of these numbers should be treated as confirmed. Only the launch, on November 19, 2026, will let us actually measure the map.
Frequently asked questions
Are there more regions beyond these 6? As of now, these are the only ones officially confirmed by Rockstar. Full maps are usually only revealed close to launch or on day one.
Which region is the largest? There's no official confirmation of proportions between regions — only qualitative descriptions of what each one offers.
Will the map get expansions after launch? There's no official confirmation of map DLC at this time.
Where do the region names (Ambrosia, Grassrivers, etc.) come from? They're fictional names created by Rockstar, inspired by real Florida geography and culture, but with no direct correspondence to any real city.
