How the map works

Everything about the Interactive Map and the community around it: account, pins, confirmations, points and levels — with real examples.

Open the map

Your account

Anyone can browse the map. To create, confirm or report pins you need a free account — with email and password, or by signing in with Google or Discord.

Once signed in you stay signed in, even after closing the browser. You're only asked to sign in again after 14 days without using the site, or 60 days after your last sign-in. Signing out ends the session in that browser immediately.

Changing your password ends every open session, on every device — handy if you suspect someone got into your account.

Understanding pins

Each pin marks a spot on the map. Its color and icon tell the category; its glow, the rarity; its border and shade, the status.

Categories

  • Collectibles Hidden items to collect.
  • Vehicles Where to find cars, bikes, boats and more.
  • Weapons Weapons scattered around the map.
  • Shops Shops and services.
  • Easter eggs Secrets, references and curiosities.
  • Missions Where missions start.
  • Places Places worth a visit: landmarks, viewpoints, corners of the map.
  • Side activities Games, sports and amusements outside the story: what you can do just for fun.
  • Animals Where to find wild animals and other creatures on the map.

Rarity

Whoever creates the pin picks its rarity. It changes the pin's glow:

  • Common The default, no extra glow.
  • Rare Purple glow.
  • Epic Pulsing golden glow. Anyone confirming an epic pin also votes on whether the rarity is right.

Statuses

  • Unverified Just created, still waiting for confirmations from the community.
  • ✓ Confirmed by the community The community confirmed the pin is right — it gets the teal ✓ seal.
  • Disputed Got reports with the same reason — it keeps an amber border until things are settled.
  • Hidden — under review Got too many reports and left the map until a moderator reviews it.

The "Filters" button next to the search shows only one status (for example, only confirmed pins) and, when signed in, only the pins you created.

Creating a pin

  1. Sign in to your account.
  2. Click "Add pin", above the map. A drawer with the form opens next to the map.
  3. Click the exact spot on the map. A dashed circle shows where the pin will go — click again to adjust.
  4. Pick the category and rarity, give it a title and, if you like, a description.
  5. Save. The pin shows up right away for everyone, as "Unverified" — and, for you, it stays highlighted as "Your latest pin" until you add the next one.

Tips to get your pin confirmed

  • Be precise: zoom in a lot before clicking.
  • Use a title that says what it is ("Golden Infernus behind the gas station", not "car").
  • Check there isn't already the same pin there — duplicates usually get reported.

Confirming and reporting

Click a pin to open its card. That's where you confirm or report it:

Confirm

Confirm when you've seen in the game that the pin is right. Confirmations are what take a pin out of "Unverified".

Report

Report when the pin is wrong, choosing a reason:

  • Incorrect information
  • Outdated
  • Duplicate
  • Spam or abuse

Rules

  • You can't confirm or report a pin you created yourself.
  • One action per pin: if you confirmed a pin you can't report it, and vice versa.
  • Clicking Confirm or Report opens a window where you can attach a screenshot or photo as evidence (PNG, JPG or WebP, up to 10 MB). It is optional, but without it your action carries less weight: fewer points, and moderators have less to go on.
  • On epic pins, confirming also asks whether the rarity is correct.

Photos

Photos show the real spot — a photo of the TV or a screenshot already helps a lot whoever is looking for the item in the game.

Who adds photos

  • Only the pin's creator adds photos to it, with the "Add photo" button on the pin card.
  • Anyone confirming a pin can attach an evidence photo. When the pin becomes Confirmed, those photos join its gallery, credited to whoever sent them.
  • Each pin holds at most 10 photos.

How many photos you can add to each of your pins

  • Newcomer / Contributor
  • Veteran
  • Guardian / Moderator

Confirmation photos count toward the pin's 10, not toward your personal limit.

Photo review

  • Every photo goes through an automatic check for improper content, run on our own servers.
  • Until a photo is approved, only you can see it, marked "Under review". Doubtful photos are reviewed by a moderator.
  • A refused image can't be uploaded again.

Formats and privacy

  • JPG, PNG or WebP, up to 10 MB. Large photos are shrunk automatically before upload.
  • Before storing it, we strip every hidden piece of data from the file — including the GPS location phones usually record.
  • We keep two versions: a light one for the pin card and a bigger one for fullscreen.

How a pin changes status

A pin's status changes on its own as the community confirms and reports it. These are the exact rules:

Unverified → Confirmed

3 confirmations, at least 1 of them from a Contributor or above — or a single confirmation from a Guardian or Moderator.

Example: Ana, Beto and Caio confirm a pin, and Caio is a Contributor. On the third confirmation the pin becomes Confirmed.

Launch phase

While the site has fewer than 10 Contributors, 3 confirmations of any level are enough to confirm a pin. This rule switches off by itself as the community grows.

→ Disputed

2 reports with the same reason. On heavily confirmed pins the minimum rises to 10% of the confirmations.

Example: A pin with 50 confirmations needs 5 reports with the same reason to become disputed.

Disputed → Hidden

5 reports in total (or 20% of the confirmations, whichever is higher) — or 1 "spam or abuse" report from a Guardian or Moderator.

Example: A disputed pin with 30 confirmations leaves the map on the 6th report.

Hidden → Removed or Restored

A moderator reviews the pin, seeing the reports and evidence photos, and decides — always recording a reason. If restored, the pin comes back and may become Confirmed right away if it already had enough confirmations.

Questioned epic rarity

With at least 3 votes, if more than 70% say the rarity is wrong, the pin goes from epic to rare.

Example: 3 of 4 votes saying "wrong" (75%) → becomes rare. 2 of 3 (67%) → stays epic.

Points

Points measure how much you help the map. They're only given at the outcome — when a pin is confirmed or removed — never on the click itself.

What happenedPointsWho gets them
Your pin was confirmed+10The pin's creator
You confirmed a pin that ended up confirmed+5 (+7 with a photo)Everyone who confirmed
You reported a pin a moderator removed+2 (+3 with a photo)Everyone who reported
Your pin was removed for being wrong−15The pin's creator

Example: You create a pin and 3 people confirm it (one of them attached a photo). When it becomes Confirmed: you get 10, two people get 5 and the one with the photo gets 7.

Fair play: between the same two accounts, only the first 3 interactions within 7 days earn points. The action still counts toward the pin, it just stops earning points.

Levels

Your level goes up with points (and, at the higher levels, with account age). Losing points can drop you a level.
