The poster advertises "Make It Rain Mondays" at the Jack of Hearts, Leonida's strip club. In its corner sits a QR code with a brand nobody had noticed: Peekhole. It's on screen for a fraction of a second at 17:31 in the Extended Look, the 26-minute, 48-second video Rockstar released on August 27, and it went almost two months without anyone flagging it.
Fan account @gtasix_ spread the find on X on October 23, describing Peekhole as "a fictional platform called 'Peekhole,' a parody of OnlyFans." PlayStation LifeStyle and ComicBook.com picked it up the same day, and GTA Wiki opened a page for the service, which it describes as an "online content subscription service."
Why everyone read it as OnlyFans
It isn't just the name. ComicBook.com and GTA Wiki both point out that the Peekhole logo resembles the one OnlyFans used from 2016 to 2021, and the Wiki adds a real-world detail: QR codes on posters and stickers are a common way to promote profiles on the platform. A Peekhole code outside a strip club would then be the club's own profile on the service, which is the reading the Wiki considers most likely. As for the name, a peephole is what you look through, and the Wiki ties it to voyeurism.
Scan the code today and you won't land on any profile: it opens the official GTA VI website. Rockstar has pulled the same trick before, with parody addresses in earlier games redirecting to promotional pages, as Vandal noted back in 2025.
What does Peekhole actually do in the game?
Nobody knows. Rockstar hasn't commented, and all three reports we read say so plainly. What's out there is speculation:
- a highly upvoted Reddit comment, cited by ComicBook.com, suggests the QR codes could unlock missions in the vein of GTA V's "Strangers and Freaks";
- other fans imagine Jason and Lucia's phone being able to scan codes in-game, which would fit a title where Rockstar has put so much weight on the phone and social media;
- and there's the simplest explanation, that it's just set dressing, like the hundreds of fake brands scattered across the series.
Our read is that the third option is the safe bet until launch. A brand with its own logo suggests Peekhole shows up in more than one spot on the map, but there's a long way from that to a browsable in-game app, and no source covers that distance.
The missing piece from the 2025 leak
Peekhole also casts a September 2025 story in a new light. Back then, insider TezFunz2 posted a list of domains registered by Take-Two on GTAForums, all on the same date, May 27, and Vandal summed up what each one seemed to parody:
| Domain | What fans thought at the time |
|---|---|
| rydeme.app | Uber or Lyft |
| what-up.app | |
| buckme.app | OnlyFans or Patreon, for some fans |
| leonidagov.org | Leonida's government portal |
| hookers-galore.com | an adult or escort site |
The insider also warned that some registrations might never make the final game. Now that the OnlyFans parody has surfaced under a different name, in official footage, the theory that buckme.app was that service looks weaker. That's our inference: none of those domains has been confirmed by Rockstar, and Peekhole wasn't on the list.
"The most controversial parody in Rockstar history"?
That's the headline ComicBook.com went with. Tyler Fischer's argument is that satirizing OnlyFans is touchy in itself, and how it's handled could stir up even more. The piece also notes that GTA 6 is the first game in the series released since the platform went mainstream, and that Rockstar's satire has always tracked whatever was in vogue: Cluckin' Bell (KFC and Taco Bell), iFruit (the iPhone), Ammu-Nation (American gun culture). GTA Wiki lists Peekhole's closest ancestors as the HD-universe dating sites, including Love Meet, Pester and Hush Smush.
The headline is a stretch. The series has already lived through the moral panic around GTA III and San Andreas' Hot Coffee scandal, both mentioned by ComicBook.com itself, and those were far bigger deals than a logo on a poster. Still, the subject fits what we already know about the game: Rockstar's official launch trailer page shows the ESRB M rating with "Nudity" and "Strong Sexual Content" among its descriptors.
For players in Brazil
In Brazil, GTA 6 carries an 18+ rating, so a working Peekhole wouldn't run into anything the age rating doesn't already cover. And since the game won't have Portuguese voice acting, only subtitles, brand names and puns will likely stay in the original English, as they did with Lifeinvader and Bleeter, the Facebook and Twitter parodies of earlier games.
The definitive answer on Peekhole arrives on November 19, when the game launches on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
