A good portion of the GTA 6 development material leaked since 2023 has been gradually confirmed by Rockstar's own official presentation — but not all of it, and the difference between what's fact and what's still rumor matters.
What's already been officially confirmed
- A scene showing Jason playing basketball, which had already circulated among unauthorized leaked videos, appeared in Rockstar's official presentation — even without all the button prompts and HUD indicators seen in the leaked footage.
- The protagonists Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos were officially confirmed with full names — Lucia is the first playable female protagonist in a mainline GTA chapter.
- Elements of the Leonida map (including references to Vice City and rural areas) also matched what had appeared in the 2023 leaks.
What's still rumor, not confirmation
Images presented at the time as parts of the complete map, scenes involving a nudist community, and specific interface details shouldn't be treated as definitive — there's no official confirmation that they're accurate, and it's possible some elements were cut or changed during development between 2023 and launch.
Why this matters
The 2023 leak was widely spread before any official confirmation, and part of the community treated the material with skepticism at the time, precisely because it had no official origin. The fact that central elements (protagonists, a specific gameplay scene) are being confirmed reinforces the overall authenticity of the original leak — but that doesn't mean every detail of it will be confirmed the same way.
How to evaluate "leak vs. official" comparisons
Always check whether there's an official Rockstar source behind a specific claim before treating it as fact — official trailers, Rockstar's website, and formal company statements are the reference, not screenshots of leaked material without context.
