Forty-two days. That is how long Cyberleek stayed quiet after the last August clip, and it is exactly how long is left before GTA 6 launches on November 19. On Thursday, October 8, the leaker came back with the biggest drop yet: a ZIP file named "Extended Leek" holding roughly 25 minutes of gameplay.
Rockstar has said nothing. No outlet has independently confirmed the footage is real, although VGC, as quoted by Brazilian site Game Over Drive, says it "appears to be authentic". We read the coverage from Dexerto, Kotaku, Vice, VGTimes, Hardware.com.br, Tech Insider and Game Over Drive to put this together. We have not watched the video and we will not say where it is.
What the outlets describe
Put the reports side by side and the video runs through these scenes:
- A dirt bike race at the Thrillbilly Mud Club.
- Car tuning in a garage, split into three areas according to Game Over Drive: Pro Builds, Cosmetics and Performance. Hardware.com.br mentions engine, transmission and nitrous upgrades.
- A night street race in Vice City, driven in first person with nitrous (Kotaku).
- Clothes shopping: Jason and Lucia visit a store run out of a trailer.
- A tank that turns up in the middle of a river, unexplained.
- Lucia climbing a tower to set up a jump.
- Cutscenes and mission segments from the campaign.
That last item is what sets this apart from August. Kotaku points out that the earlier leaks carefully steered clear of anything that gave away the plot, and that this one contains story spoilers. The site does not spell them out, and neither will we.
Where the reports disagree
Three details change from one site to the next:
| Detail | Versions |
|---|---|
| Length | 24 minutes (Vice), "about 25" (Dexerto, Kotaku), 25 to 26 (Tech Insider) |
| File size | 367 MB (VGTimes, Hardware.com.br, Tech Insider) or "larger than 370 MB" (Dexerto) |
| Lucia | seen from behind only (Kotaku), wearing bikini bottoms only (Dexerto), topless in a tower scene (Game Over Drive) |
The first two are rounding. The third is the same scene described with more or less detail, and none of the accounts contradicts another.
Is the nudity a feature or a development leftover?
This is the part that travelled furthest. By VGC's count, as relayed by Game Over Drive, Jason is fully naked for around 14 of the 25 minutes: on a motorbike, on a bridge, near the tank and at a beach coffee shop, going by Kotaku's description. Vice adds that it carries on through cutscenes and missions.
Two facts help make sense of it. First, Vice itself notes the footage "could be from an older build" and that the finished game might have pedestrians react. Hardware.com.br mentions debug tools visible on screen, which fits an internal development version. Second, nudity is not new territory for what Rockstar has already acknowledged. Vice recalls that the studio confirmed shower nudity in an IGN interview, and the game's age rating already lists sex scenes.
Our reading is that roaming the map naked is most likely a test state, not a promised feature. That is an interpretation, not a fact: nobody in the sources we read knows what it will look like on the 19th.
From August to today
| Date | What happened |
|---|---|
| August 18 | First clips: basketball, driving, a fight with pedestrians |
| August 18 to 27 | 17 videos in all by Game Over Drive's count, including a nightclub, a game store and a Lucia prologue |
| August 26 | Rockstar acknowledges the leak of in-development material |
| August 27 | The official "An Extended Look" trailer is released; wallets tied to the leaker's crypto token move about US$250,000 |
| August 31 | Take-Two asks a court for data on more Discord accounts and calls its investigation "rapidly evolving" |
| October 5 | A poll made of nothing but question marks appears on the leaker's site, set to close on the 8th |
| October 8 | "Extended Leek" |
The file name is a direct jab at the official August 27 trailer. And the date settles what the poll hinted at: the October 8 deadline was the countdown to this drop.
It is worth remembering what surrounded the August videos. Cyberleek claimed to be protesting digital-only games, preorders and monetization while pushing a token of their own. The figures depend on who you ask: more than US$250,000 per Dexerto, between US$260,000 and US$270,000 per Gameranx (cited by Tech Insider), US$250,000 to US$268,000 per Game Over Drive. Kotaku sums the character up as an attention seeker shilling a coin, and reports that the coin is advertised in the middle of the new video.
If you are just catching up, we covered how this began in leaker Cyberleek claims to have a playable build.
What nobody has confirmed
In the sources we read, these are still open:
- Whether it is the same person. Dexerto says it is unclear if today's upload comes from the same individual or group as in August.
- How old the build is. The leaker has called it "recent"; that is their claim, unverified.
- Where it came from. VGTimes refers to a cracked version of the game without showing what that is based on.
- Who Cyberleek is. According to Tech Insider, nobody has been publicly named or charged so far.
- What Rockstar will do. There is no statement about the October 8 material.
If you plan to play on the 19th
VGTimes chose not to publish or link the video, noting that this kind of material tends to be taken down on copyright grounds and that scenes, mechanics and character looks may differ at release. We are doing the same, for one more reason: for the first time the drop includes pieces of the campaign. Anyone who has waited this long to see Jason and Lucia's story the way it was written only has six more weeks to go.
