No email, no heads-up. A black box with the Rockstar logo just showed up on YouTuber TmarTn's doorstep, delivered by overnight courier, according to GTABoom. Inside was the material for what looks like a campaign Rockstar has started spreading among content creators 50 days before GTA 6 launches: a Vice City kit meant to be opened on camera.

What was in the box

The sources we opened describe the same haul with slightly different details:

  • Cap: "pink and blue" with the Rockstar logo (GTABoom) or a "blue cap with the logo" (Beebom);
  • T-shirt: GTABoom just says "a T-shirt"; Beebom describes a "Goodtime State" shirt with the Vice City logo;
  • Engraved Zippo lighter — in both;
  • Stickers for GTA 6 and Rockstar;
  • Canvas tote: "Greetings from Vice City," with Macca the gator and Chunkee the manatee (GTABoom); a "blue tote with the VI logo" (Beebom);
  • A card reading "Greetings from Rockstar," mentioned only by GTABoom.

You can read this as two descriptions of the same tote — the VI logo could sit on the same side as the animals — or as different pieces. Our reading: probably the same bag, but without watching the creators' videos we can't be sure, and neither page shows the whole item.

Who got one

TmarTn and Hollow are the two who showed the contents publicly, per Beebom; GTABoom names Hollow as another creator who received a similar box. In the sources we read there's no full list of creators who got one and no statement from Rockstar — Beebom says outright that there are no official quotes about the boxes.

Not the $399.99 product

GTABoom is careful to keep things separate, and it's worth repeating: this is press swag, not a retail item, not an early copy of the game, and not the box Rockstar sells for $399.99. That other one, the Vice City Collection, is the one we covered in what's in the $400 box, and it got a chilly reception from part of the fanbase — collectors reacted badly to a $400 box without the game.

The comparison is unavoidable and a little cruel: what Rockstar gives away free to a handful of creators is, in spirit, a slice of what the public might buy for less. That's our opinion, not a fact.

Has it shown up in a leak?

An earlier The Gamer piece offers a clue. According to The Gamer, GTAVice found about 22 unreleased GTA 6 items already loaded in the back end of Rockstar's merch store, not yet publicly listed: mostly T-shirts (some styled as in-game fictional brands), keychains, stickers, snapback caps and a Zippo lighter. Zippo, stickers and shirts are also in the creators' box.

Care is needed here. The pages we read do not say the box items are the same as the leaked ones; the overlap in categories is what invites the suspicion. Our reading: it looks like the creators' kit is a sample of what could go on sale, but that's inference, not fact.

Thursday, again

Beebom lists what it calls a Thursday announcement pattern since late August: the Netflix Extended Look (August 27), the PS5 controller (September 3), the album reveal (September 17) and the Collector's Edition showcase (September 24). It speculates the next drop could be October 1 — tomorrow. The Gamer, in its leak story, also sees a weekly Thursday rhythm of merch reveals and notes that November 19, launch day, is a Thursday.

Note that tomorrow's date is Beebom's speculation, based on the rhythm of earlier releases, not something Rockstar has said. If nothing arrives tomorrow, the pattern hasn't broken — the bet just missed.

What about Brazil?

This is where the sources go quiet. None of the three we read says whether Rockstar's merch store will ship to Brazil, what the items would cost in reais, or whether the leaked products will be sold at all. For readers here, all we can say is that today these items exist only in the hands of the people who received them, and if they do go on sale, international shipping and import taxes will be part of the math.

What nobody else has told us

Not found in the sources we read: how many creators got one, whether the box is numbered or limited, or whether some piece of the campaign is being held back for launch. GTABoom says only that Rockstar hinted at more collectibles on the way, without detailing how. It isn't much — but it was enough for two videos to draw attention and for the Vice City brand to take over one more timeline.
