There's a line at the end of the launch trailer that goes by fast: everything was captured in-game on a PlayStation 5, and, according to RockstarINTEL and VICE, on a standard PS5 rather than the Pro. Rockstar's official page for An Extended Look, from August 27, says the same about the 26-minute video. So the two most recent official GTA 6 videos came from the same console. The question that raises is simple: what can anyone conclude from it about playing on PS5, Xbox or PC?

Notice what the list doesn't have: resolution, frame rate, a performance mode. Rockstar gave none of those numbers in either video, and Game Over Drive, which covered today's trailer, notes that the announcement doesn't detail resolution or frame rate on consoles.

The "Plays Best on PS5" badge is not a benchmark

The June 24 PlayStation Blog post that introduced the badge listed console features: advanced haptics and adaptive triggers on the DualSense, sound through the controller speaker, Tempest 3D audio and the SSD for short loads. TheGamer reproduces the passage where Sony cites the "close partnership" between Sony Interactive Entertainment and Rockstar. KitGuru points out that most of these features already show up in plenty of PS5 games, so the announcement confirms presence, not advantage.

ZerotoBeast's analysis reaches the same spot from the other side, by listing what's missing: no 60 fps mode on the standard PS5, no resolution target and no PS5 Pro–exclusive mode have been confirmed. In our reading, the badge says "the game uses PlayStation's features," not "it runs better than on Xbox."

Where the sources disagree: what about the PS5 Pro?

TheGamer writes that Sony says the game "plays best" on PS5 and PS5 Pro. Wccftech and KitGuru say something different: that Sony's post doesn't mention the PS5 Pro. According to Wccftech, Pro details will probably surface closer to launch, but that's the author's guess. We couldn't open the blog post itself to settle it, so what we stand behind is only this: no Pro-specific improvements are confirmed in any of the sources we read.

And Xbox and PC?

None of the official pages we opened mentions Xbox or PC. ZerotoBeast says there's no published Xbox Series spec and no load-time comparison. As for PC, GamesBeat's report, which we covered, points to the first quarter of 2027, but nothing official, and Hardware.com.br repeats that no date exists.

VGTimes lists PC among the trailer's platforms. It's the only piece we opened to do so, and it doesn't match Rockstar.

What this changes for Brazilian players

  • If you have a standard PS5, you're seeing the game on your own console in the official videos. All that guarantees is that the footage wasn't recorded on stronger hardware. Frame rate and resolution once you're actually playing remain unanswered.
  • If you have an Xbox Series S or X, you have no official sample so far of how the game runs there. That isn't a warning sign; Rockstar just hasn't shown it.
  • PlayStation Store pre-order. ZerotoBeast mentions a free month of GTA+ for pre-orders through PlayStation's store, on top of the Vintage Vice City Pack. That's one source only: check the store before you decide.
  • Controller. If the DualSense matters to you, Sony also showed a limited-edition controller.

What to watch until November 19

If Rockstar or Sony publish performance numbers, the natural places are each edition's page on the digital stores or a new PlayStation Blog post. Until then, any "runs at 60 fps" or "runs at 4K" going around is rumor, and the trailer, however good it looks, proves none of it: it's an edited video, and Rockstar doesn't say how much of it is playable.
