Near the end of the episode, Cartman, Kyle, Stan and Randy sit through a video game presentation, and the screen cuts to something else: Jason and Lucia on a packed Vice City beach, a dog, a plastic bag, and an NPC about to get hit with it. It is about 17 seconds of GTA 6 inside "Guinea Pig on a Stick", the fourth episode of South Park's 29th season, which aired in the United States on October 28.
The characters praise the graphics and the world, and Cartman approves, according to GTA Boom. The joke has been building: the same outlet says the whole season (rebranded "South America") had been teasing the launch, insisting from the premiere that things would get better once November arrived. This time the show stopped talking about the game and showed it. The clip is circulating on YouTube:
What the scene shows
The outlets we opened agree on the basics. Jason and Lucia walk along the beach; there is a cinematic shot of a dog relieving itself in the sand; then the picture switches to third-person control, with Jason picking up a bag of dog waste and hitting an NPC with it. A South Park character explains the mechanic, and Beebom, which counted the 17 seconds, sums it up: you can pick up a dog's droppings in the world and use them against passers-by.
The exact order of the blows differs by outlet. Notebookcheck says Jason throws the bag at an NPC, who gets agitated, and that he repeats the attack. RockstarINTEL describes another sequence: Jason throws food at the person walking the dog, the walker drops the bag, and Jason picks it up and hits him in the face. LADbible and Viciados, which only describe the episode's narration, talk about throwing the waste at pedestrians and using it as a weapon if they fight back. The video above settles it for anyone who wants to check.
Beyond the mechanic, Notebookcheck notes a beach full of NPCs with different body types, some reacting with lines to Jason's violence and to gentler contact, and footprints forming in the sand. RockstarINTEL also points to the density of NPCs and props. Both descriptions match what leaks had already shown of the same beach (more below).
The credit line, and what it does not settle
The difference between a parody and official footage is in the credits. Notebookcheck transcribes the line that runs after the episode: "Grand Theft Auto VI footage courtesy of Rockstar Games, Inc." Vice reports that Rockstar sent the gameplay to the animation studio, and GTA Boom says the same, treating the footage as supplied by Rockstar itself. We did not watch the whole episode: the credit quote is Notebookcheck's.
Not everyone gives that credit. LADbible calls the footage "exclusive" without saying where it came from. Viciados headlines that "Rockstar releases" the gameplay, but its body text treats the clip as "alleged" gameplay inside a parody and never mentions Rockstar. In our reading, Viciados' headline says more than its own text supports. And Gagadget makes a point that applies to everyone: the credit shows who supplied the footage, not that nobody had seen it before.
We also found no statement from Rockstar or Take-Two about the scene in any outlet we opened. In our reading, a "courtesy" line is the usual way to credit licensed material, which fits a clip handed over on purpose. But that is our interpretation, not something the company confirmed.
New to whom?
The sources split here. GTA Boom, Vice and Notebookcheck treat the clip as brand new. RockstarINTEL separates the parts: the shots of Jason and Lucia driving around Vice City had already appeared in August's Extended Look, and the dog scene is what is new. Beebom goes the same way, saying it is the first time the waste-throwing mechanic has been seen in action, and adds that Rockstar had supposedly confirmed before that you can throw dog waste at NPCs. We did not find that confirmation in the sources we opened.
The beach, on the other hand, is not news. In August the Cyberleek group posted a video called "GTA 6: BEACH" on Telegram in which, according to Omelete (updated August 25), Jason cycles along a Vice City Beach full of tourists, groups of NPCs, umbrellas and cabanas, with interaction with water and sand. Rockstar never confirmed that material; we covered what is known about the group's leaks in this piece on the Extended Leek. In our reading, what changes now is not the setting but that the same beach and a new mechanic arrive with a Rockstar credit underneath.
A yardstick of our own, just for scale: 17 seconds is about a fifth of the 89-second launch trailer. It is little screen time, but the episode aired three weeks before launch (the game comes out on November 19 for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S), and Rockstar had already been using creators and comedy shows in the final stretch of the campaign, as we showed here.
What the sources do not say
None of the texts we read explains how the scene was arranged with the show, whether more game footage will appear in other episodes, or whether what we see is the version that ships in November. Nor did we find where the episode will air in Brazil, which is why the video above, from a third-party channel, is today the easiest way to see the clip. Since it can go offline at any moment, the link points to the channel, not to a copy of ours.
