"Pusher", a seven-minute track by Justice with Gesaffelstein, hit streaming services on October 29 as a preview of GTA 6's original score. The full record arrives on December 11, three weeks after the game, and Rockstar's page speaks of 30 tracks plus digital bonus tracks, while Apple Music lists 50. The two counts circulate as if they were the same thing, and they are not. This text separates what each source says.
Two records, two dates
First, the naming confusion. The official music page on Rockstar's site lists two different releases:
- GTA VI: The Album, with various artists, 34 original tracks, on November 19, the same day as the game. That is what we covered in September. "Flower in a Hurricane", the launch trailer song, appears on it credited to Justice, as we showed in this piece.
- Original Score, by Justice alone, on December 11. This is the one "Pusher" (with Gesaffelstein) belongs to. The official page lists it among the Score's singles; it is not on the Album's list of nine singles.
"Pusher" became available at midnight on October 29, local time, so it reached New Zealand first, according to VGTimes. NowPlaying says it is on Spotify, Apple Music, Deezer, Tidal and Qobuz and runs seven minutes. Vice describes it as the second track revealed from the Score, after "Flower in a Hurricane".
30 tracks or 50
Here the sources do not match:
- Rockstar's official page says the Original Score has 30 tracks, "plus digital bonus tracks", without saying how many.
- Vice reports 30 tracks and more than three hours, citing Justice's website.
- Insider Gaming and VGTimes say 50, and Insider Gaming says where the number comes from: an Apple Music page in the New Zealand store. Neither comes from Rockstar.
- NowPlaying gives 50 and says the vinyl has 30 and the CD has all 50.
In our reading, the simplest version that reconciles everything is: 30 tracks on the physical release (vinyl) and 50 on streaming, with the 20 extras being the "digital bonus tracks" from Rockstar's page. But NowPlaying states that the CD carries all 50, and Vice lists a double CD, so the sum cannot be closed with what has been published. A yardstick of our own gives scale: 30 tracks in "more than three hours" works out to more than six minutes per track on average, and "Pusher" runs seven. That fits a record of long compositions, not the average radio song.
Where the 50 came from
The 50-track number showed up through the back door. Insider Gaming, on October 28, reports that the record appeared with 50 songs on Apple Music's New Zealand store, the one that turns over to the new day first; VGTimes describes the same path for "Pusher", whose only cited source is an Apple Music page. In the sources we read, the one speaking of 30 tracks is Rockstar's page, and it does not mention 50. In our reading, this favors the idea that 50 is the count for the full streaming release and 30 the count for what fits on the physical record, but it remains a reading, not a confirmation.
Insider Gaming also writes that the Score comes "in addition to" the game's core soundtrack, without explaining what that means, and VGTimes notes there is no information on who wrote or produced "Pusher": the title says only "feat. Gesaffelstein", "From GTAVI: Original Score".
The timeline so far
- October 15: the launch trailer debuts "Flower in a Hurricane", and Justice appears as the author of the original score (our piece).
- October 28: the Score's page shows up on Apple Music's New Zealand store, with 50 tracks (Insider Gaming).
- October 29: "Pusher" comes out, and pre-orders for the record open at the same time (VGTimes).
- November 19: release of the game and of The Album.
- December 11: Original Score.
Formats and prices
The prices come from stores, not from Rockstar, whose page lists a triple clear vinyl ("Triple Crystal Clear") and a double CD without figures. Vice, citing Rough Trade in the United States, has the triple clear vinyl at US$59.99 (a store exclusive, with color and finish that may vary), the black one at US$54.99 and the double CD at US$21.99. NowPlaying speaks of US$59 or €45 for the vinyl and US$22 or €17 for the CD, with Rough Trade and Fnac as retailers. PlayDay published lower numbers (CD at US$19.98, vinyl at US$45.99 and the clear one at US$51.98 "at select stores"), which suggests different prices per retailer. We found no price in reais and nothing about sale in Brazil.
What nobody said
None of the sources explains which the extra 20 tracks are, or whether the physical record's order matches the streaming one. We also found no total runtime confirmed by Rockstar, no release time for the digital record and nothing about the physical record being sold in Brazil, and the Newswire post announcing the Score ("Original Score by Justice", dated October 29) did not open for us beyond its title.
